WWP programs serve as a model for positive youth development that uses media and technology as tools for individual and community transformation. We recently partnered with Genevieve Melody STEM school in West Garfield Park to facilitate a 6-week program that exposed 8th grade students to STEM related-careers that exist in areas of digital media.
By participating in our programs not only do students develop new skills and interests but also, collectively they create a student voice on issues that are important to them. From discussing issues within their communities to calling for more art classes in CPS, our programs provide a platform for student expression and creativity.
Here are a couple student created videos from our session.
